Icon Lodging was formed by the creation of combining many family owned and operated hotels, whose roots date back to the 1980’s. The principals of Icon Lodging are successful because they have implemented a hands-on approach to their hotel company. There grassroots beginnings of living and working in a mom and pop hotel with their families has provided a tremendous foundation of core values for the companies ongoing success and future growth.

Our long-term growth strategy is to grow at an aggressive steady pace during not only robust economic cycles but more importantly during turbulent economic cycles. We feel this can be achieved by aggressive but sound acquisition and development criteria and great franchise partners who are ready to help make our vision a reality.
Our Executive Team
As the Managing Partner of Icon Lodging, Mr. Piyush Patel is actively involved in the development, construction and management of limited-service hotels. Having this hands-on involvement helps build the firm’s competitive advantage to consistently over-deliver on each hotel project. Throughout his career, Mr. Patel has developed many nationally recognized hotel properties under the Marriott, Hilton, Best Western and La Quinta franchises.
Mr. Patel was the primary catalyst for both TownePlace Suites by Marriott hotels in Waco (93 rooms) and Fort Worth, Texas (128 rooms). Mr. Patel has well over a decade of experience in limited-service hotels, including serving as the Texas Area Manager of La Quinta Inn & Suites as well as the Texas General Manager of Days Inn & Suites – where he supervised and directed all hotel development and operations. After starting Icon Lodging, Mr. Patel has developed and constructed 21 new limited-service hotels throughout three states, including Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana. In addition to these newly-construction hotels, Mr. Patel has also purchased and remodeled 6 limited-service hotels in two states – Texas and Louisiana.
The expertise and experience that is brought to the company from Mr. Patel is invaluable and a contributor to the company’s competitive advantage over other firms. This has allowed the company to land key regional projects with very high barriers to entry which will position Icon Lodging for consistent growth through the economic cycle for years to come.
Mr. Piyush Patel is a graduate in Finance from the prestigious University of Texas at Austin, which is located in the capital city of the state of Texas.
Mr. Nimesh Patel oversees all of Icon Lodging’s business acquisitions, development, dispositions, deal structuring and financing. With more than 13 years’ experience in the hotel industry, Mr. Patel is the company’s chief architect of hotel acquisition,development and growth. During his tenure, Nimesh has helped finance more than $125 Million in hotel assets and has been involved in the company’s purchase and remodel of more than $22 Million in hotel projects.
Attention to detail, aggressively finding value within deals, and key relationships with Icon’s industry partners are just a few of the key characteristics that Mr. Nimesh Patel adds to Icon Lodging’s value proposition. Bringing an owners’ mindset to every project helps the company consistently deliver quality projects on-time and on-budget.
Mr. Nimesh Patel is a graduate in Finance from Southern Methodist University (SMU) – located in Dallas, Texas. Since graduating from SMU, Mr. Patel has applied his business knowledge in all aspects of the hospitality, finance, and insurance to help Icon Lodging’s steady growth.
Vice President of Operations
Over the years he has adapted to the rapid changes within the hospitality industry and embraced those changes to keep ICON Lodging hotels running with exceptional efficiency.
Jessica brings over 20 years of accounting experience to the Icon Lodging team. She has a BBA in Accounting from Kennesaw State University. Jessica started her hospitality career with Suburban Lodges of America, Inc and was part of the accounting team during the IPO and two additional stock offerings. During her tenure at Suburban she was promoted from staff accountant to accounting manager. Jessica was Vice President of Accounting for Columbia Hospitality Management, Inc for six years. During her time at Columbia she built and managed a finely tuned accounting department that improved productivity, individual accountability and team morale.
Jessica’s vast experience and expertise assists the Icon Lodging team to have essential data at their fingertips at all times in order to make time sensitive decisions to ensure the success of their hotel projects.

Our future plans include meticulously planning our growth with our key franchise partners to enter into high-barrier to entry markets both regionally and nationally. We have also developed key partnerships with capital both on the equity and debt sides to make our projects a win-win-win for all parties involved.
